[SMM Hydrogen Policy Update] Ministry of Transport Issues "Technical Specifications for Road Transport of Hydrogen (Including Liquid Hydrogen)"

On September 15, the Ministry of Transport issued an announcement regarding the release of seven industry standards, including the "Technical Specifications for Road Transport of Hydrogen (Including Liquid Hydrogen)".

These include the technical specifications for road transport of hydrogen, which stipulate the equipment conditions and requirements for transportation, parking, and emergency response for hydrogen UN1049 (including liquid hydrogen UN1966) road transport. The standards apply to road transport of hydrogen (including liquid hydrogen) using equipment such as long tube trailers, tank trucks, tube container assemblies, and tank containers, but do not apply to road transport using bulk gas cylinders, vertical cluster devices, or container basket devices for hydrogen storage, nor to solid-state hydrogen storage systems. The implementation date is March 1, 2026, and the standard number is JT/T 1568-2025.
